1 Day Birding Workshops -

Throughout your day you will receive one on one instruction, tips and focused observations that will help improve, refine and shape your photographic skills. Real time Q & A will give hands on understanding of optimal camera settings needed in a variety of situations and environments. 

Lunch and snacks provided.

An image review at the end of the workshop provides constructive feedback and is a valuable learning tool for improving your skills.

BIG ISLAND WORKSHOPS :

Kona Cloud Forest - 

Photograph rare Hawaiian birds in the cloud forest on a private 22 acre preserve set high above Kona. Trails wind throughout the property allowing you to closely observe native Hawaiian birds in their natural habitat.

Several platforms raise you to a canopy level vantage point and provide a true bird’s eye perspective. Some species we will see are only found at this elevation. This includes the endangered Hawaiian Hawk ( Io ), I'Iwi, Apapane, Elepaio, Hawaiian Amakihi and others, as well as a number of introduced exotic birds like the beautiful Red Billed Leiothrix.

Mauna Kea -

We will drive you in a comfortable 4 Wheel drive vehicle to birding hot spots located in various locations on Mauna Kea and the Saddle Road. Additional native birds to see are the endangered Palila, Hawaiian Short Eared Owl (Pueo), Oma'o and Nene - Hawaii's State Bird. If we are extremely lucky we may have sightings of the very rare Akiapola"au, Akepa and Hawaii Creeper.
